JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — The Bargersville Fire Department employed rope rescue tactics to assist an injured kayaker over the weekend.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, crews were dispatched to an area near Sugar Creek in Camp Atterbury to help Nineveh Fire assist an injured kayaker. When BFD arrived at the scene, its first responders conducted a low-angle rope rescue.

Nineveh Fire and BFD successfully assisted the kayaker. BFD reported that the kayaker, who was identified as a male, was transported to a hospital in good condition.
