BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Police said a bank robbery was the reason Bloomington High School South and Templeton Elementary School went into precautionary lockdowns on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Bloomington Police Department, officers were called to the JC Bank on 2421 S. Walnut Street shortly before noon on Tuesday on report of a robbery.
Employees of the bank said a man wearing a face covering walked into the bank, approached a teller and handed over a note demanding money. The man fled on foot after the teller complied with the demand.
Police said the schools went into lockdown as a precaution while police searched the area for the suspect.
At this time, the suspect has not been located.
