Ball State, Indiana and Notre Dame received 12, nine and three seeds, respectively.

Notre Dame, Ball State and Indiana are all slated to play their first tournament games on Friday. The Cardinals, Fighting Irish and Hoosiers will play Ole Miss, Stephen F. Austin and Utah, respectively.

Ole Miss, Stephen F. Austin and Utah received five, 14 and eight seeds.

Notre Dame’s placement on the three-seed line came as a surprise to some on Sunday. Before Selection Sunday, ESPN’s Charlie Creme projected the Fighting Irish to garner a two seed for the NCAA Tournament.

Notre Dame finished the season with a 26-5 overall record. The Fighting Irish went 16-2 in conference play.

Indiana wrapped up the regular season with 19-12 overall and 10-8 conference records. Ball State went 27-7 overall and 16-2 in league play.

The Cardinals punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament. Prior to this season, Ball State had not made the NCAA Tournament since 2009.

The Hoosiers have made the last six NCAA Tournaments. The Fighting Irish have not missed the NCAA Tournament since 2021.
