MANILA, Philippines — Bobby Ray Parks Jr. vows to play better in the 2022-23 Japan B.League season after signing a contract extension with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins.

Nagoya on Monday announced that the Filipino import and Scott Eartherton both inked a fresh deal. However, terms were not disclosed.

Parks expressed his gratitude to the Diamond Dolphins for giving him another opportunity to play in Japan for another season.

“I truly appreciate the fans, the organization, and the city of Nagoya for welcoming me and making me feel at home,” Parks said in a statement. “Amidst us falling short this year and battling many obstacles, we managed to fight and I can’t be more proud of the team. All this was possible due the love and unconditional support from our Dolphins Family.”

The former UAAP MVP is eager to give back to his team by playing better next season.

“I can’t wait to come back again next year. We will definitely continue to give it our all,” he said.

Parks averaged 10.7 points on 38-percent three-point shooting and posted 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals in 22.4 minutes as Nagoya’s starter in 33 of the team’s 46 games.

The National University standout was the lone Filipino import to reach the playoffs as Nagoya finished with a 34-15 record only to be eliminated by the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in the quarterfinals.
