Police are on the scene of a shooting at Jefferson Mall.The shooting was reported sometime around 5 p.m. on Monday. Police said that shots were not fired inside of the mall. There was an altercation that happened inside the mall and then shots were fired in the parking lot, according to police.Officials said one person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.Police said it was not a random act and that the people involved knew each other.At this time, police said they can confirm there was one shooter and the suspect is at large.They also said there was no active shooter. The scene has been secured, but they are asking for people to avoid the area.SWAT cleared the mall and LMPD’s Homicide Unit is handling the situation now.Those who were inside the mall are being interviewed by police and then will be released to go home.
