In Elden Ring, applying an Ash of War to a weapon can completely change its usefulness to your build. Carian Sovereignty is one such Ash of War that Intelligence builds aren’t going to want to miss in the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Ash of War: Carian Sovereignty stats and features
Ash of War: Carian Sovereignty can be applied to Curved Swords, Curved Greatswords, Daggers, Greatswords, Heavy Thrusting Swords, Katanas, Straight Swords, Twinblades, and Thrusting Swords. When used, it slams a massive magical greatsword down on your foes, which can be followed up with an additional horizontal sweep. Both attacks can be charged to enhance their damage.

Carian Sovereignty’s item description reads:
“This Ash of War grants an armament the Magic affinity and the following skill:
“Carian Sovereignty: Skill passed down the Carian royal family. Transform blade into a magical greatsword and bring it down. Additional input follows up with a horizontal sweep. Charge either attack to enhance potency.”
Usable on swords (colossal weapons excepted).”
Where to find the Ash of War: Carian Sovereignty
You can find Carian Sovereignty in a cave in Scadu Altus. To reach it, fast travel to the Cathedral of Mantus Metyr Site of Grace.
From the Site of Grace, leave the cathedral and go east to find a lower portion of the cliffside that runs parallel to the upper area on which the cathedral sits. At the very end of this cliffside past numerous wolves is a small cave embedded in the wall.
When entering the tiny, dark cave, look up to see a teardrop scarab hanging above you. Use a ranged attack to knock it down and kill it to receive Ash of War: Carian Sovereignty.
