On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act on a bipartisan vote, but without the support of Arizona’s Democrat Representatives.
The bill passed on a 218-206-1 vote.
Congressman Raul Grijalva did not vote on the bill.
The legislation had 83 cosponsors.
All of Arizona’s Republican Representatives voted in favor of the measure that ensures that only biological females compete against other biological females in women’s sports programs operated, sponsored, or facilitated by recipients of federal funding.
“Men have no place in women’s sports. Today, the House voted to pass The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act ensuring men will not be allowed to participate in women’s sports,” stated Rep. Abe Hamadeh in a tweet. “We made the promise to protect women and we will be sure to keep it.”

“Today, we passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” stated Congressman Andy Biggs in a tweet. “206 radical Leftists voted to allow biological men to continue infiltrating women’s sports. There is nothing they won’t sacrifice at their altar of political correctness.”

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, one of the Democrats who voted against it, said the bill was “harmful” and made the baseless claim that the bill “would subject children as young as 4 to invasive questions and humiliating, nonconsensual physical inspections without a parent or guardian.”
