The ground stop was lifted around 7:50 a.m., according to an updated advisory from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Officials with the Indianapolis airport said that the groundings caused a ripple effect and they are “working to get their flights out as soon as possible.”

In a statement from American Airlines on social media at 10:32 a.m., officials said that they resolved a vendor technology issue that “briefly affected flights this morning.”

“We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” the airline wrote.

INDIANAPOLIS — A technical issue has impacted American Airlines flights across the United States, including ones coming into and out of Indianapolis.

In a statement on social media, officials with the airline said that they are “experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights.”

According to an Air Traffic Control System Command Center advisory from the Federal Aviation Administration issued on Tuesday morning, a nationwide ground stop for American Airlines was issued by the company’s request.

As of 7:55 a.m., four American Airlines flights to Indianapolis have been delayed, according to the Indianapolis Airport’s website, including:

  • AA 4340 from Washington D.C. expected to arrive at 9:48 a.m.
  • AA 2456 from Dallas-Fort Worth, expected to arrive at 10:22 a.m.
  • AA 4725 from Boston, expected to arrive at 10:34 a.m.
  • AA 2085 from Charlotte, expected to arrive at 11:22 a.m.

According to the Indianapolis Airport’s website, AA 2975 from Indianapolis to Chicago has been delayed. As the ground stop continues, it is expected for more flights to be impacted.
