SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley warns the public of a scam involving sex crimes against children.

According to the SD Office of the Attorney General release on Friday, the scam involves someone supposedly representing the S.D. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. At times the scammer will include a photo of the consumer’s property to make it appear that the ICAC has been investigating the consumer.

Consumers should talk to someone they trust before providing personal information or sending money to anyone.

Consumer’s that receive a call should contact law enforcement or the AG’s Consumer Protection Division at 800-300-1986.
