With most of Central Indiana seeing the most snowfall in nearly three years, more is on the way before the system moves out. Heavier snow bands, mixed with sleet is possible through the morning commute before scattering in the afternoon.

This comes after several spots approached/surpassed half a foot of snow before Sunday was over. Roads in bad shape, counties under travel advisories or warnings and reduced visibility levels even canceled flights at the Indianapolis International Airport.

The most widespread activity will be in the morning before the activity turns more scattered in the afternoon. An additional 3-5″ in the spots that received the most snow already is possible. Some will end up with double-digit system snow when all is said and done. Several spots Sunday did get more than half a foot.

By late Monday, we’ll quiet down for the week with it being very cold following. Wind chills below zero at night/mornings are likely with highs struggling to get out of the lower 20s.
