About 25,000 Xcel Energy customers in the Denver metro were still without power Sunday in the wake of the weekend’s late season snowstorm.
That’s down from the about 210,000 customers who had outages as the snow hit Friday night and into Saturday morning, and down from the 70,000 who still did not have power as of Saturday night.
The heavy, wet snow dropped branches and damaged tree lines across Denver, but hit the western and southern suburbs particularly hard.
Xcel expects to restore power to all remaining customers by the end of the day Sunday, said spokeswoman Michelle Aguayo. She said about 1,200 Xcel employees and contractors were tackling that task.
