SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – In just a little over a month’s time there will be some new options for a night out in downtown Sioux Falls.

But for now, crews are still putting the finishing touches on the new restaurants.

“So we’re really super excited, finally after it’s been about five years, have these restaurants up and running,” Josh Thoma, owner and chef of the restaurants, said.

For Mexican food and tequila lovers, there will be Dahlia, named after Mexico’s national flower.

“Not only do we have kind of authentic Mexican cuisine, but we also have a great, kind of a chef’s take on modernizing some of that as well,” Thoma said.

Across the hall is a spot for burger lovers.

“Big Sioux Burger is kind of a classic riff on a diner with smash burgers,” Thoma said. “So this one is open from 7 a.m. until Midnight seven days a week. So we’re excited also to bring breakfast over to the Steel District as well.”

The third restaurant coming to the Steel District is located directly above the Falls and will feature a partnership with a name familiar to the city.

“Ironwood is our take on a classic supper club but a little bit elevated with some grilled steaks that you’d normally find,” Thoma said. “So we’re doing a dry-aged collaboration with Look’s Market.”

Josh Thoma already owns multiple restaurants in the Twin Cities, and is looking forward to bringing new concepts to life in Sioux Falls.

“I think Sioux Falls is such an amazing market,” Thoma said. “It has such a great art scene, a great restaurant scene that we’re really excited to be a part of it.”

Both Dahlia and Big Sioux Burger are set to open on October 15th while Ironwood has an opening day set for October 29th
