One Editor’s Review of the
G.Tox 7-Day Reset Kit

After a lawless bender in Santa Fe visiting my lovely brother and his lovely girlfriend, I was grateful to have had the foresight to order a G.Tox 7-Day Reset Kit and save it for a time of need. I returned home on a Sunday evening in a time of need. I was tired and felt like my stomach was doing somersaults—a gymnastics feat I never managed to learn properly as a kid. I prayed to feel brand-new after seven days. On the seventh day, I woke up feeling like a different person.
The most helpful aspects of the kit for me were:
-
It was simple to follow.
-
While I could have made our food director Caitlin’s excellent recipes in the accompanying guide and been better for it, the program does not strictly require a lot of prep work or cooking. This was clutch because I had a busy week and am kitchen-basic. Most mornings, I ate the Reset Cereal Blend plain or slightly doctored up with greens or berries and almond butter. I had a smoothie for dinner every night with the Reset Protein Powder. At the beginning of the week, I roasted a chicken and veggies in the oven and ate leftovers for lunch almost every day.
-
The clear intermittent fasting scheduling worked well with the rest of the program. I think this is the only cleanse-like program I’ve done where I wasn’t hungry between meals and where I felt satisfied eating my dinner around 5 p.m. Normally I’m drawn to late-night snacking, which is cool in the moment but personally not fun for my gut later. And in the weeks since I’ve finished the kit, I’ve found that I’m still happy to eat on the earlier side, which is helping my digestion and sleep schedule longer-term.
-
In addition to the cereal blend and protein powder, I suspect the superpowders for detox, liver, and microbiome support contributed to the state of my body and gut once I completed the kit. It’s been a while since my gut felt in this decent of shape. And I’m not bloated. (Our team included more info on the superpowders down below. The G.Tox Detoxifying Superpowder is particularly potent—but knock it back quickly like a shot and you’ll be fine. It’s bitter but as GP reminds us, it’s not Jäger.)*
The most challenging part of the kit for me was eating the cereal blend—it wasn’t my jam. But compared to the most challenging foods in every other detox I’ve tried (IYKYK), the cereal blend was welcome and entirely doable. Also, I know others disagree with me on this point (hi, Sammy and Ethan, you cereal blend lovers). If you’re into the Reset Cereal Blend, you can now eat it even when you’re not doing the kit—see the 7-day and 21-day supply options.
The biggest surprise was that I was okay without coffee. I like that this program allows you to have caffeinated tea—so I drank a cup every day and had a couple of matcha lattes on the weekend. I had a bit of a headache the first day, but then it passed. I’m not ready to admit that I was less jittery and more emotionally stable without coffee, so please don’t press me.
