Fans lined streets for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday

Athletes from all around the world, trekking the streets of Chicago. The marathon returns with 40,000 runners today as neighborhoods all over the city are overtaken by cheering crowds and music. It’s just so fun to see Chicago come alive. It’s just such *** special weekend. Everyone cheering on Chicago is *** great course, so many neighborhoods, the two top runners are from Kenya, wrapping up the 26.2 miles with *** time of just over two hours. It was *** lot of fun early on and then after it started getting really difficult to be honest, but I was really grateful to be out there, So many great competitors, supporters spread out all throughout town, *** special moment for many as they cheer on loved ones. It’s great. It’s great. But all these people around here and it’s *** beautiful day and I’m just so proud of them. Little emotional, You get so worked up about the whole thing, it’s *** bit freezing, so I don’t envy them at all, but it’s pretty epic and it’s definitely something worth bragging about jennifer Conway braving the chilly morning that she and her fiance while admitting it takes *** special kind of person to run the Chicago marathon. I think he’s insane for doing it frankly. But the Chicago marathon Is always such *** proud moment for this city as runners go through 29 different neighborhoods and there’s also quite *** bit of worldwide representation. 100 different countries here along with all 50 states, you see that in the crowds and within those runners making their 26 mile journey for sure. It’s also *** chance to reunite for many locals taking in that special marathon atmosphere. It’s great. And you see so many people that, you know, and being from Chicago, like just watching the course to you get to see so many friends that maybe you went to high school with or college with anything like that, so love cheering people on this weekend. I’m eric watch AbC seven Eyewitness news.
