Hot hazy and sunny to start August, then we get a southwestern monsoonal slow to bring some showers and storms into tonight and tomorrow. Highs popping upper 80’s in mountains to 97 in Pocatello. Winds shift with the clouds and showers moving in by mid afternoon. SW winds 5-10mph and storms pick up overnight and winds will be gusting to 20+mph. We’ll see some relief from smoke in the air and cooler temps (10-14 degrees cooler) make the forecast a little more bearable. Storms linger for Tuesday and highs will be in the 80’s.
A heat advisory sneaks into Power County today and temperatures into the Magic Valley pass 100 degrees. Look out for gusty thunderstorms later and protect yourself from intense heat for the day today. Hydrate and find shade today.
