A boy fell to his death from an 18th-story window Tuesday evening in Uptown officials said.
Just before 7 p.m., paramedics and police responded to the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue, where police say a 3-year-old boy was inside a residence on the 18th floor when he fell through a screen window, the Chicago Police Department said in a media notification.
A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department said the boy is 5 years old. The boy landed on the third floor of a parking garage, the fire spokesperson said.
The boy was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead, officials said.
