La Crosse, WI – Today, Rep. Ron Kind joined state and local leaders in welcoming U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan to West Salem and La Crosse to highlight the impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“It was great to welcome EPA Administrator Michael Regan to Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District today and discuss the historic impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “From upgrading our roads and bridges to improving our water infrastructure, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is delivering for communities large and small, and we’re just getting started.”
First, Rep. Kind, Administrator Regan, and other state and local leaders toured the newly upgraded wastewater treatment plant in West Salem to discuss the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s critical investment in water infrastructure. Through this law, Wisconsin received $142.7 million in water infrastructure funding for 2022. This investment will help communities address PFAS contamination, replace lead service lines, and provide clean water.
Following the visit to West Salem, the tour stopped in La Crosse to see the City’s electric buses and highlight how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is continuing to help modernize our nation’s buses to reduce emissions and promote cleaner air.
Rep. Kind voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on November 5, 2021 and the package was signed into law November 15, 2021.
