Camp culture is big around Pittsburgh, and everyone seemingly knows several people with a camp outside of the city used for long weekends, summer vacations, and more.
But if you do not have access to your own camp, you are not completely out of luck. There are many great cabin rentals near Pittsburgh to help you get a trip out into nature. So in this one, we thought we’d share a few great options to consider for Pennsylvania rental cabins just a short drive from Pittsburgh!

We reviewed many of the apartment rentals in Pittsburgh for what we normally look for when traveling, and simply think these are quite unique, interesting, and in most cases also have fantastic locations such that we would likely inquire about them if we were travelers. Riverfront Home in Armstrong County
Want to get away with a gorgeous view of the Allegheny River in Armstrong County? This four-bed, two-bath cabin has a view that won’t let you down. A boat dock is also found nearby for those who want to get out on the water in a boat, kayak, or canoe (BYO vessel, however). As an added bonus, this one prioritizes enjoying nature properly and does not offer WiFI as of publication.
Cabin on the Youghiogheny Near Confluence
Would you prefer a riverfront cabin on the Youghiogheny in the Laurel Highlands over the Allegheny? This two-bed, two-bath cabin rental is for you! Not only is riverfront access a priority of this one, you are also close to the Great Allegheny Passage nearby which runs from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland (and onward to Washington DC via the C&O Canal Trail)- so don’t forget your bike either!
Large Cabin on 17 Acres in Clarion County
Want to head north to Clarion County for your cabin outing? This beauty just west of Clarion, PA, features a four-bed, two-bath setup that sleeps eight all on a 17 wooded acre lot. Nearby are golf courses, hiking and biking trails, kayak and canoe spots, and is a 45 minute drive from Cook Forest State Park as well.

A-Frame Cabin with Gorgeous Mountain Views
Want to stay in an A-Frame property with gorgeous views? This three-bed, two-bath rental with numerous amenities near Jones Mills, PA, is for you. Not only is this one at the edge of an organic farm and next to a state forest, it is also just a 10-minute drive from Seven Springs and five minutes from restaurants and shops in Donegal.
Cabin Near McConnells Mill and Moraine State Parks
In the mood for a cabin retreat but don’t want to head into the Laurel Highlands? This stunning two-bed, three-bath rental is located on a 50-acre property about an hour north of Pittsburgh- making it a great base to check out McConnells Mill and Moraine State Parks just a short drive away.
Large Cabin with Two Stocked Ponds

It is located just a few minutes from Oakmont, close to parks like the Trillium Trail and Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, and you can be downtown in about a half hour pending traffic. Not bad at all!
