SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Local wildlife photographer Jim Brandenburg died at the age of 79.
Announced on his Facebook page, Jim Brandenburg died peacefully in his Medina, Minnesota home on Friday, April 4. He was surrounded by his family.

Jim was being treated for anaplastic thyroid carcinoma for the past 7 months with additional complications from pneumonia.
Jim is preceded in death by his son Anthony. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Heidi, and grandchildren Olivia, Liam and Linsey.
