MANILA, Philippines—Filipino tennis star Alex Eala sustained her fine form in the W60 Madrid on Saturday.
Eala barged into the final after cruising past No. 16 Katherine Sebov of Canada, 6-2, 6-1, in the semifinal at Club Deportivo Brezo Osuna in Spain.
The 17-year-old Eala took down another seeded player in the tournament after turning back third seed Jaimee Fourlis of Australia in the quarterfinals.
Eala also beat home bet and No. 7 Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers in the third round.
Eala will take on either Marina Bassols Ribera of Spain or Adithya Karunaratne of Hong Kong in the $60,000 event.
