A Peoria man, Robert Allen Lee, has received three consecutive life sentences for sexually abusing his stepdaughter and her friend in Peoria.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, in the first incident in 2021, the friend reported to the Peoria Police Department that Lee had sexually abused her. While in custody, Lee made several calls to his wife, asking her to help him intimidate the victim and her family, and to encourage his stepdaughter to lie on his behalf.

Later, the stepdaughter reported that she also had experienced ongoing abuse by the defendant between the ages of nine and 15. While still in custody, the defendant once again called his wife, this time to convince his stepdaughter to lie and recant her statement.

“We know this man attacked children at least twice. A sentence of 150 years ensures he will never come in contact with a child again,” said County Attorney Rachel Mitchell. “Having prosecuted sex crimes for more than 30 years, I can only begin to describe the amount of courage it took for these two girls to speak up and ask for help.”

Lee was sentenced for the following charges:

  • Seven counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a Class Two Felony
  • Two counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a Class Six Felony
  • Two counts of Involving or Using Minors in Drug Offenses, a Class Two Felony
  • One count of Conspiracy to Commit Influencing a Witness, a Class Five Felony
  • One count of Attempt to Commit Influencing a Witness, a Class Six Felony
  • One count of Conspiracy to Commit Tampering with a Witness, a Class Six Felony
  • Two counts of Attempt to Commit Tampering with a Witness, a Class One Misdemeanor.
