BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — A 64-year-old man was seriously injured after a minivan and an SUV collided on snowy State Road 32.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the crash occurred around 3:11 p.m. on Friday near where State Road 32 crosses 500 West.
The crash involved a Jeep Cherokee and a Honda Odyssey. The 64-year-old driver of the Jeep was ejected from his vehicle and found lying in the roadway by first responders. The Odyssey was located in a ditch with front-end damage.
The sheriff’s department said the 64-year-old Lebanon man was rushed to a local hospital where he is listed as being in serious condition. The Indianapolis driver of the Odyssey sustained minor injuries.
Investigators believe the crash occurred after the driver of the Jeep lost control and crossed the center line.
The roadway was closed as a result of the crash. Roads were slick across central Indianapolis at the time of the collision as a second wave of snow hit the area bringing with it two to four inches of slick, slippery snow.
