YANKTON, SD (KELO) — The Hall of Trees features more than 70 decorated trees on display at the Mead Museum in Yankton. The hours are noon to 4 p.m. through December 31st. Admission is $8 for adults, free for kids and museum members. Visitors can vote for their favorite tree. Kids activities include a scavenger hunt and a holiday prize bag.
Siouxland Libraries is hosting a Family Storytime at the Oak View Branch in Sioux Falls for newborns through age five. Give their early learning a holiday boost with books, rhymes, music and movement at this drop-in program beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
Extended holiday hours are now in effect at Great Bear Ski Valley in Sioux Falls. Skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The tubing hill is open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Terry Peak Ski Area in the Northern Black Hills is open for skiers and snowboarders. The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain Time.
Open skating sessions at the SCHEELS IcePlex in Sioux Falls are 1-3 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Skate rentals are $4.
Dive into winter swimming, indoors, at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls. Today’s hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday’s hours are noon to 5 p.m.
Holidays on the Hill features tours of the James J. Hill mansion in Hills, MN. Tours start every half-hour beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is $25.

You can dispose of your real Christmas trees for free at the City of Sioux Falls’ two drop-off sites. They’re located at 200 Lyon Boulevard, south of the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds, and at 1015 East Chambers Street, west of the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The sites are open daily through January fifth, but will be closed on New Year’s Day.
Winter Wonderland features more than 25 miles of lights and other holiday decorations on display at Falls Park. The lights are on from 5 pm. to midnight through January 5th. Admission is free.
