The holiday season might be almost over, but that doesn’t mean the festive fun has to end. That’s because there are many great holiday season attractions that stay open after Christmas is done.

For this article, I’ve focused on attractions that stay open beyond New Year’s Day, so while a lot of attractions are open the week after Christmas, the ones in this article stay open until at least the second weekend after Santa comes.

So, if you want to extend your holiday season a little longer, here are some great spots to see Christmas lights around PA for a little bit longer.

(Note: All dates listed are for the 2024 holiday season.)

Shady Brook Farm

Shady Brook Farms is located in Bucks County, only a few miles north of downtown Philadelphia.

There are many fabulous drive-through Christmas light displays in PA, but, in my opinion, none are better than the one at Shady Brook Farm in Bucks County.

The display here is a little over a mile long, and features three million lights, probably the highest concentration of lights that you’ll find anywhere in the state. Displays range from classic holiday scenes, to whimsical designs, and even scenes from around the world.

Plus, there are some walk-through elements, a beer garden, and even tractor rides on select nights.

Shady Brook Farm is open until January 5, 2025.

Phipps Conservatory

Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh is great to visit any time of the year, but the holiday season is my favorite because of their incredible winter flower show.

During this time of the year, the interior of the conservatory comes to life with holiday decorations, beautiful flowers, and much more. There’s even a small outdoor light display that you can walk through during your visit.

Phipps Conservatory’s Winter Flower Show stays open until January 12, 2025.

Longwood Gardens

Christmas is an amazing time to visit Longwood Gardens.

Longwood Gardens is another fabulous spot to enjoy flowers and beautiful lights during the holiday season.

This Philadelphia-area display features massive indoor gardens, as well as immaculately decorated outdoor spaces, so make sure to bundle up if visiting on a cold night. It’s said there are over half a million lights here.

Longwood Gardens is open for the holiday season until January 12, 2025.

Holiday Lights on the Lake

Holiday Lights on the Lake in Altoona is one of the best light displays in the Alleghenies Region of PA and is another great light display open into January.

This display is located in Lakemont Park with many of the park’s rides and attractions lit up with lights. You’ll also find many fun moving displays and a neat walk-through area at the end with a model train, gift shop, snack bar, and more.

Holiday Lights on the Lake is open until January 5, 2025.

Peddler’s Village Lights

The free lights at Peddler’s Village a incredible to see in person and are open later than any other light display in PA.

Of all the Christmas lights in PA, there might be none that are open later into January than the free light display at Peddler’s Village in Bucks County.

While these lights are centered on a shopping center, this is a unique spot with lots of local shops and restaurants. Plus, the display includes over a million twinkling lights throughout the beautiful grounds surrounding the center. That makes this truly a magical place to visit.

The lights at Peddler’s Village are illuminated through January 18, 2025.

Christmas Light Drive-Thru at Stone Gables

Stone Gables Estate in Lancaster County features lights that are illuminated into early January.

The Christmas Light Drive-Thru at Stone Gables in Lancaster County is a fabulous holiday light show that features more than a million lights on a three-mile route.

This route takes you through a beautifully-lit woodland, through a light-adorned covered bridge, and past some of the most beautiful and historic barns in PA, all decked out in lights. While it does lack some of the most whimsical displays that you find at many other light shows, it’s also one of the classiest displays you’ll find in the state.

The lights at Stone Gables Estate are illuminated until January 5, 2025.

Christmas Light Up Celebration

Enjoy some late-season festive cheer at the Christmas Light Up Celebration in Allegheny County.

If you’re looking to see holiday lights after Christmas in the Pittsburgh area, don’t miss the Christmas Light Up Celebration in Clinton.

This fabulous western Allegheny County tradition is set up in Clinton Community Park and is one of the best value light displays in the state. Along the route, you’ll find a great collection of light displays, lit buildings, and decorated trees. There’s a lot of festive fun to be had here.

The Christmas Light Up Celebration is open until January 5, 2025.

LumiNature

The lights at LumiNature in Philly shouldn’t be missed.

LumiNature at the Philly Zoo isn’t a traditional light display, so it makes sense that it would stay open for a bit after the traditional end of the holiday season.

The over one million lights at LumiNature highlight animals from around the world in over a dozen inventive displays. And, while some have a bit of a connection to the holiday season, most don’t. In fact, it reminded me more of an Asian lantern festival than anything.

So, if you’re looking for lights without much of a connection to the season, make sure to visit this one before it closes on January 4, 2025.

Trail of Lights

Trail of Lights in Chambersburg is a great spot for families to visit.

Trail of Lights in Chambersburg is one of my favorite walk-through light displays in PA and is one of the best spots for families to visit on this list.

That’s because, in addition to a really fun walk-through display, there are also several fun play areas open on select nights with activities like a Ferris wheel, slides, a petting zoo and more.

Train of Lights is open until January 4, 2025.

Lights on the Parkway

Lights on the Parkway in Allentown is a fabulous drive-through light display in the Lehigh Valley.

This show features a nice variety of light displays along the park’s roads including animated displays, wrapped trees, light tunnels, and more. All told, there are more than 350 different displays to be seen here.

Lights on the Parkway is open until January 6, 2025.

Herr’s Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights at the Herr’s Snack Factory are among my favorite in southeastern PA.

The Christmas light display around the Herr’s Snack Factory in Chester County is another of PA’s best free Christmas light displays that stays open into January.

There are more than 600,000 lights here encircling the Herr’s headquarters and factory. This display mostly consists of wrapped trees, which creates an almost magical forest feel at times.

Not only can you enjoy this display until January 5, but it’s also lit all night, so you can check it out at 3 am if you so desire.

Wild Illuminations

Wild Illuminations at the Pittsburgh Zoo is another great display to check out toward the end of the holiday season.

Like the display at the Philadelphia Zoo, Wild Illuminations doesn’t have a ton of holiday-specific attractions, instead focusing on animals and natural displays. This is done not only through lights, but also Asian-style lanterns, which makes for a fun and unique display.

Wild Illuminations is open until January 12, 2025.

Refreshing Mountain

Zip or walk through the lights at Refreshing Mountain in Lancaster County.

If walking or driving through lights isn’t thrilling enough, visit Refreshing Mountain in Lancaster County where you can zip line through lights.

That’s right, Refreshing Mountain’s popular zip line course is open during the holiday season, as well as their ropes course. Of course, you can also walk through the lights here, either in addition to or in lieu of the more adventurous activities.

Refreshing Mountain is open for the holiday season until January 5, 2025.
