SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – With Christmas is less than a week away, there are plenty of events in Sioux Falls to get in those last moments of holiday cheer. 

A Christmas Story: The Musical

Dec. 19-22

The Good Night Theatre Collective is putting on a musical of the classic 1983 holiday movie, “A Christmas Story.” The show runs Thursday-Sunday with performances at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 

A Christmas Carol

Dec. 19-21

The Premiere Playhouse’s annual Christmas Carol returns for a fourth year in a row. The show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. There is also a 2 p.m. show on Saturday. Tickets are $35. 

Photos with Santa- Empire Mall

Dec. 19-24

Santa Claus will be at the Empire Mall taking photos with kids until Dec. 24. Check out the mall’s website for special hours closer to Christmas. Photo packages run from $20-60. 

Meet Santa- Washington Pavilion

Dec. 21

Santa will also make an appearance at the Washington Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 10-4 p.m. 

Sioux Falls SantaCon

Dec. 21

The Sioux Falls SantaCon pub crawl is back after a brief hiatus. Locations include Pave at 4 p.m., Club David at 5:30 p.m., Wiley’s at 7 p.m. and Icon Lounge at 8:30 p.m. People are encouraged to dress up in holiday attire. The event is free and 21+. 

Winter Wonderland at Falls Park

Dec. 19- Jan. 5

The Winter Wonderland lights at Falls Park start every night at 5 p.m. until Jan. 5. This year, there are more than 29 miles of lights and over 380,000 light bulbs. 

Christmas lights map

The 2024 Christmas Lights Map has 25 houses and neighborhoods throughout Sioux Falls that are decked out for Christmas. The map automatically uploads into a Google Maps route, and takes about two hours to complete in full.
