SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The holiday season is usually a beautiful time, with many things becoming decorated in Christmas garb.
At the Serendipity Studio, you will find the Merry and Bright Art Exhibit.
“The exhibit is all about the holidays for the most part. We invited the artists to come and think about what Merry and Bright means to them, and they came up with some wonderful pieces, again, primarily focused around the holidays,” Serendipity Studio Owner, Jason Pfitzer said.
The exhibit features different mediums from 13 artists, one of them being Angie Lennartson.
“I started pursuing the art world in 2020 during the wonderful pandemic of finding something to do. And I started really kind of putting myself out there in about 2022 ish,” artist, Angie Lennartson said.
Angie displays two pieces in the exhibit, but her favorite is her piece called’ Tis the Season’.
“It kind of is my explanation of the wonderful season of Christmas lights, Christmas cookies. The joy of the holidays and the chaos of Christmas morning with wrapping paper all over,” Lennartson said.
Jason Pfitzer, who is the owner of the gallery as well as an artist, says that this is a great opportunity for local talent to be on display.
“It’s an opportunity for them to express their Christmas joy. A lot of these pieces or a lot of these artists enjoy decorating or celebrating the holidays and using art to do that. And this is a way for them to showcase that,” Pfitzer said.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to display my art, to get out to the public, to maybe have people buy as Christmas gifts. But also, I think it’s a great exhibit just of the holiday season to see the wonderful artists and the variety of art that is in here,” Lennartson said.
Helping people ring in the holiday season on an artistic note.
If your schedule is completely filled until Christmas, don’t fret. The Merry and Bright Art Exhibit will be open most days until January 4th.
