LEAD, SD (KELO) — Terry Peak Ski Area in the Northern Black Hills opens for the season today. The Steward Slope will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain Time. All services in the Stewart Lodge, guest services and the ski school will also be open.

Great Bear Ski Valley in Sioux Falls is open for skiers and snowboarders. The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Season Pass Sunday goes from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club presents its Holiday Show at the SCHEELS IcePlex. The performance is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, $5 for children and free for ages 3 and under.

Open skating at the SCHEELS IcePlex runs from 1-3 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Skate rentals are $4.

VFW Post 628 is hosting an All-You-Can Eat Pancake Breakfast. Serving time is 8:30 a.m. to noon at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance. The cost is $8 for adults, $2 for children.

Canton Lutheran Church is hosting A Night at the Stable living nativity from 4-7 p.m. A soup supper will be served from 5-7 p.m. A Christmas Cantata is at 4 p.m.

Kids can visit Santa Claus at Lewis Drug stores today. Santa will be at the Lewis at 10th & Cliff from 9 a.m. to noon. Then, he’s off to the Lewis at 41st & Marion from 2-5 p.m.

The Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society is hosting an open house at their club building on the north side of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. You can check out South Dakota’s largest permanent model railroad from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Also at the fairgrounds, the Ranch Rodeo Extravaganza wraps up in the Expo Center, featuring team roping.

Christmas at the Capitol features nearly 100 decorated trees inside the capitol building in Pierre. It’s open to the public every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through December 26th, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Admission is free.

Winter Wonderland features more than 25 miles of lights and other holiday decorations on display at Falls Park. The lights are on from 5 pm. to midnight through January 5th. Admission is free.

Holiday movies playing at the historic State Theater in downtown Sioux Falls include Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point, rated PG-13, plus The Grinch and Home Alone, both rated PG.

The Wells Fargo CineDome & Sweetman Planetarium at the Washington Pavilion features Experience the Aurora, The Grinch and Polar Express.

New movie releases playing at a theater near you include Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, rated PG-13 and Kraven the Hunter, rated R.

Enjoy a double-header of pro football action on KELOLAND TV. CBS Sports coverage begins at 11 a.m. with The NFL Today. Then, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Cleveland Browns at noon. That’s followed by the Buffalo Bills at the Detroit Lions at 3:25 p.m.
