SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is in the Minnehaha County jail, accused of attempting to steal a car while armed with a stolen gun.

Police say around noon on Thursday, a man was in a parking lot near 2nd street and Minnesota Avenue. A woman noticed he had a gun and tried to drive away.

That’s when police say the man opened the door and told her he needed her car.

Police arrived and arrested 20-year-old Jasir Holder. Officers allegedly found a gun in his coat pocket, which they say was stolen from Tea.

This is the third time he’s been accused of robbery. In a 2021 case, robbery charges were dismissed. In a 2022 case, he was acquitted for mental illness.
