MOORESVILLE, Ind. — A number of Christmas trees in Mooresville have been vandalized.

According to a Facebook post, many trees that were part of a local decorating contest were broken off their posts. The contest was part of Mooresville’s Annual Victorian Christmas Celebration.

Per the Facebook post, the decorating contest the vandalized trees were part of helps raise money for Churches in Mission, which is — according to its Facebook page — an organization that provides food, clothing, financial assistance and other resources to Morgan County residents in need.

Officials who put Mooresville’s Victorian Christmas celebration together revealed that they found the trees damaged on Friday morning. Event organizers are encouraging those who may have information on the vandalized trees to contact the Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department or the Mooresville Parks and Recreation District.

As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the alleged vandalism had been made available.
