INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation has been launched after a person was shot and critically injured on the near west side of Indianapolis Monday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the 2900 block of W. Walnut Street after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.
IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and found an individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD.
It marks the second shooting police responded to in what is shaping up to be a violent Monday night across the Circle City. Police were called around 7:19 p.m. to investigate a shooting on N. Ritter Avenue that also left a person in critical condition.
