SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Officials continue to process evidence from Saturday morning’s homicide in central Sioux Falls.
According to the Sioux Falls Police Department, Aidan Quickbear, 25, died of his injuries from a stabbing as his friends took him to the hospital while police were on their way to the scene.
The crime happened in a parking lot of the 500 block of Duluth Avenue. According to police, detectives are interviewing witnesses of the crime.
“I feel like we are in a strong position in regards to this case, but there have not been any charges as of yet,” A Sioux Falls police Captain said during Monday’s briefing.
Police said they are not sure of the nature between the suspect and the victim, but confirmed they have a person of interest in the case. Police said they are waiting for more evidence to be processed at the state crime lab.
There have been 14 homicides in Sioux Falls, setting a new record for the city.
