INDIANAPOLIS — A 17-year-old was shot on the northeast side of Indianapolis Monday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, multiple people called dispatchers around 7:40 p.m. to report that shots had been fired in the area of Wyckfield Way.
Immediately after those calls came in, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Wyckfield Way — which is located near the intersection of 65th Street and Binford Boulevard — on a report of a person shot. When officers got to the area, they found a 17-year-old male who had sustained injuries consistent a gunshot wound.
Per IMPD, the 17-year-old was transported from the scene to a St. Vincent Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
IMPD reported that the boy was able to tell them that he was standing outside when he was shot. He also told police that a car pulled up, somebody yelled “is that him?” and then shots rang out.
Police found shell casings from at least three different guns at the scene. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a black four-door car.
