WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A man has been arrested in relation to a reported stabbing near a campsite in West Lafayette in late October, according to the West Lafayette Police Department.
Officials said that 21-year-old Justin Craig was preliminarily charged with one count of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony, in relation to the stabbing.
At around 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 28, officers with the department were called to a reported stabbing that allegedly occurred near a campsite in the woods behind the West Lafayette Wastewater Treatment facility. The person who was stabbed had already been transported to a local hospital.
During an investigation into the incident, detectives identified the suspect as Craig. On Wednesday, deputies from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department located and detained Craig.
The release said Craig was then transported to the West Lafayette Police Department and was arrested after an interview.
