GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — A Grant County man is facing several felony counts of child molesting following an investigation.
The Grant County Sherrif’s Office announced that Richard Allen Jarvis III, 40, has been preliminarily charged with three counts of child molesting (level 1 felony) and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor (level 4 felony).
Authorities launched an investigation on Nov. 4 after receiving a report from the Indiana Department of Child Services alleging that Jarvis III had sexually molested the victim, according to GCSO.
After compiling evidence and investigating further, GCSO said authorities had an arrest warrant issued.
Jarvis III was subsequently detained and transported to the Grant County Security Complex where his bond has been set at $200,000 for cash, surety and property.
