INDIANAPOLIS — More than 350,000 people cast their ballots in Marion County during the 2024 Election Cycle.
According to a report from the county election board, 191,580 people voted on Election Day, and 133,727 more cast their ballots early.
Nearly 30,000 mail-in ballots — 28,846, specifically — were cast in Marion County. Per the county election board, officials collected 3,065 ballots from military, overseas and homebound voters.
“We saw record in-person early voting this year,” Marion County Clerk Kate Sweeney Bell said in a release. “Our poll workers tirelessly ensured that Marion County elections ran safely, securely, and efficiently. Administering the largest election in Indiana is a daunting task that our team continues to successfully implement year in and year out.”
Previous reporting indicated that, as of Monday, nearly 170,000 ballots had already been cast in Marion County.
Per the election board’s website, 650,471 people were registered to vote in Marion County. The board reported that, as of 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, voter turnout for this year’s election in Marion County was 35.32%.
Unofficial results on the election board’s website indicate nearly 100,000 straight Democratic party tickets were cast, while about 51,000 straight Republican party tickets were registered. A few hundred people also cast straight ballots for the We The People (303) and Libertarian Parties (245).
