November is the last month of Meteorological Fall. It kicked off with the sunniest start for a November 1st in five years. More sunshine is on tap heading into the weekend.

Today marks the LATEST 80° day on record for the city of Indianapolis. It was 81° on this date in 1950. This month cools the fastest annually, and the coldest November was Nov 22nd, 1880, with a low of -5°.

Clear skies will aid in bringing the COOLEST night of the season for the city of Indianapolis. Indy has yet to hit the freezing mark this fall. We are on track for the latest FIRST FREEZE since 2016 (Nov 12th). We look to escape the official first freeze well through next week.

The weekend looks great with only a small rain chance on Sunday. Expect more temperatures in the 70s by Sunday with that trend continuing through Election Day. It could mark the fifth consecutive rain-free weekend around here.

The outlook for November will keep the ‘warm’ trends going. entering the month, this is the 12th warmest fall on record and there is a higher probability of above-normal temperatures for much of the eastern U.S.. A few showers Monday-Wednesday are possible but no washouts are on tap. May need an umbrella on Election Day but dry hours overall will prevail.
