A new TV ad slams U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s temperament, saying the Prairie du Chien Republican “doesn’t care about anyone.”
The spot was paid for by Democracy First PAC Nevada, according to AdImpact.
“When Derek Van Orden got physically aggressive with Capitol workers, he said, ‘I don’t give a f— who you are, I’m a congressman,’” the narrator says with the expletive beeped out, referring to Van Orden cursing at a group of Senate pages for lying on the floor of the U.S. Capitol rotunda to take pictures.
“But Van Orden doesn’t care about anyone,” the narrator says. “The teenage librarian he terrified, the police barricades on Jan. 6, and in Congress, he doesn’t care about you, siding with extremists who cut Social Security and kick sick folks off health care. Derrick Van Orden doesn’t give a f—.”
The end of the ad also shows a photo of Van Orden and text saying he “doesn’t ‘give a ****’ about Wisconsin.”
According to AdImpact, the group has a $404,000 buy in the western Wisconsin district over the final two weeks of the race. Cooke and those backing her have $5 million in reservations over that period, compared to $3.2 million by Van Orden and his supporters.
