The Tennessee Titans are coming off a complete meltdown against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, falling 52-14 in Week 8 action.
With the season in a tailspin, nothing seemed to go right in that contest. Veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph, whom head coach Brian Callahan believed would be a steadying influence on the struggling offense, did his best Will Levis impression and imploded.
The right tackle position was a mess, the defense couldn’t stand up to the onslaught and the special teams were worse than bad.
The Titans are a mess and there are really no signs of them improving any time soon.
In Week 9, they will take on a New England Patriots team that will have some momentum after beating the New York Jets in an AFC East battle on Sunday, not only knocking off their rivals but jumping them in the standings. And they played most of the game with their starting quarterback on the sideline after suffering a concussion.
Incredibly, the oddsmakers at BetMGM believe the Titans have more than a fighting chance, installing them as 3-point favorites to open the week. The over/under is 38.5 and the money line is -155.
The Titans will have to make some major improvements if they want to get back into the win column.
Tune in Sunday afternoon in Nashville when the Titans take on the Patriots.
