SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– A 12-year-old boy from Knox County, Nebraska, remains missing after two days of searching, but the Knox County Sheriff’s Department isn’t giving up the search.

According to a new Press Release from Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Holden Duncan was last seen on Monday, October 21, 2024, in the area of the Crofton High School at 4:15 p.m. He was reported missing at 9:50 p.m. Surveillance cameras belonging to a private citizen showed Holden on the north edge of Crofton at approximately 6:30 p.m. on October 21, 2024.

A search began on the night he was reported missing and continued again the following day and continued all day and night on October 23.

Search efforts were once again conducted by organizations in the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, Nebraska State Patrol, Yankton County Search and Rescue, Bloomfield & Lindy Fire and Rescue, Santee Fire and Rescue, Yankton Police Department and Dixon County Sheriff’s Office K9 and many others coordinated a search of the City of Crofton and the surrounding countryside on foot and in the air utilizing drones and a helicopter on October 23rd. The FBI has also been consulted and has offered resources.

Officials believe Holden is still hiding within the Crofton area. However, the search will continue to include any and all areas depending on leads given to law enforcement.

According to the release from the Sheriff’s Office, “This is not the first time Holden has not come home, however, Holden has never remained gone for this long. The family wants Holden to know he is not in trouble and they just want him to come home safely.”

Law enforcement is asking that anyone in the Crofton area who has home surveillance cameras please check them as far back as 4:00 p.m. on October 21st. or if anyone has any additional information, please call the Knox County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 402-288-4261.
