NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A man has been arrested and charged for allegedly supplying fentanyl that led to the overdose death of a woman in Hamilton County.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Alfreddie Peterson Jr. was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 felony. As of Wednesday morning, Peterson is listed as an inmate in the Hamilton County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
An investigation was launched on Feb. 12, when officers with the Noblesville Police Department were called around 7:15 p.m. to the 15400 block of Old Pond Circle in response to reports of an unconscious female. When authorities arrived on the scene, they located an unresponsive female, later identified as 22-year-old Hannah Field.
Field was soon pronounced dead on the scene and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Detectives learned the victim lived with her parents who informed police that Field was released from the hospital a month prior for a reported overdose on Jan. 18.
They told investigators they found Field unresponsive in her room and immediately contacted 911.
Court documents show that officers found a plastic bag containing 6.5 blue pills displaying the marking “M30” after searching Field’s bedroom.
The investigation led detectives to Field’s phone which revealed a text message conversation between the victim and a contact listed as “Freddie,” according to court documents.
Detectives connected the phone number to an individual eventually identified as Peterson after inserting it into an online investigation tool, court documents said.
This led investigators to the suspect’s driver’s license number, which they ran in the same system, resulting in a photograph being obtained from the BMV.
Investigators subsequently compared the photos found on Hannah’s phone that were allegedly sent by “Freddie.”
In the text thread, Peterson allegedly asked Field if she knew any colleagues who were interested in purchasing pills from him.
Field proceeded to state that she was interested in acquiring pills before they agreed on a price of $45 for nine pills.
Investigators uncovered emails on Field’s phone showing that she reportedly took an Uber ride on Feb. 9 to a residence located in the 1500 block of East Gimber Street in Indianapolis to meet Peterson. Investigators also recovered emails showing receipts of a person-to-person payment on CashApp for a $45 transaction.
An autopsy report, which was released on April 2, later confirmed that Field’s cause of death was initiated by intoxication by fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl. A laboratory analysis of the blue “M30” pills detectives recovered from Field’s bedroom confirmed the presence of fentanyl, according to police.
Investigators then turned their attention to Peterson and executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of East Gimber Street, where they collected his cell phone.
Detectives proceeded to speak with Peterson, who allegedly admitted that he knew the victim and was aware that she had died, court documents said.
During this interview, court documents state that Peterson allegedly told detectives that he did provide pills to Field so that he could “make some money for his son.”
