JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police have arrested a former officer accused of having child pornography in his possession.
According to an ISP release, 22-year-old Jaydan Vanosdol was arrested Tuesday following the conclusion of a two-month-long investigation led by detectives with ISP’s Versailles Post. Vanosdol was an officer with the North Vernon Police Department when an investigation into his alleged misconduct with a female juvenile was initiated in August.
NVPD immediately suspended Vanosdol when the investigation began, according to ISP.
ISP said Vanosdol was allegedly in communication with the victim via a social media app, with the communication escalating to the point where both were allegedly sending nude images through the app to each other.
The evidence was presented to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office, which proceeded to issue a warrant for Vanosdol’s arrest.
ISP confirmed that Vanosdol’s employment with NVPD was formally terminated before he was arrested.
ISP said Vansdol was arrested without incident and brought to the Jennings County Jail where he was preliminarily charged with one count of possession of child pornography, which is a level 6 felony.
