Donald Trump meets the definition of “a fascist” and would govern like a dictator should he return to the White House in November, his former chief of staff has said.

John Kelly, who served the Trump administration from 2017 to 2019, told The New York Times, that Trump’s recent comments about using the military against what he called the “enemy within” were so dangerous that he felt he had to speak out.

“Looking at the definition of fascism: It’s a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy,” he said, adding that the former president matched such a definition.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, Harris dodged a question on whether she would pardon Trump during an interview NBC Nightly News. “I’m not going to get into those hypotheticals. I’m focused on the next 14 days,” she said.

The vice president has also received a $50 million donation from billionaire tech entrepeneur and philanthropist, Bill Gates. The Microsoft founder said in a statement, that despite his previously apolitical stance, that “this election is different.”

Elsewhere in Detroit, Michigan, Barack Obama and rapper Eminem joined forces to rally support for Harris.

Barack Obama blasts Trump’s ‘strong’ image

Barack Obama blasted those who said they would vote for Donald Trump because of his image of “strength.”

“I have friends who have voted Republican in the past. I do not think one party has the monopoly on all wisdom,” he said. “But when I hear folks saying, ‘Yeah, I’m thinking about voting for him just because…’ and I say, ‘what?’

“And they say, ‘Well… he seems strong, he seems tough. I saw him at the UFC fight.’ … I am here to tell you that is not what real strength is. It never has been. Real strength is about working hard… That’s real strength.

“Real strength is taking responsibility for your actions and upholding your duty. Real strength is about telling the truth even when it’s inconvenient. Real strength is about helping people who need it and standing up for those who can’t always stand up for themselves.”
