Do me a favor and look at the nearest calendar really quickly. I don’t know about you but I was shocked when I realized how close it is to Halloween. If, like me, you are a procrastinator, that means you probably haven’t figured out what you will wear when trick-or-treating, handing out candy, or attending costume parties at the end of the month. Have no fear, superheroes are here to solve your problems.
With both Marvel and DC releasing a steady stream of movies and TV shows—to the point of oversaturation, some might argue—there is no shortage of superhero-themed costumes to choose from. The wonders of the modern internet also make them easier than ever to order and get in time for Halloween celebrations.
If you’re more of a Marvel person, then the best place to start is with this year’s big releases. If you loved the long-awaited team-up of Deadpool & Wolverine, why not grab a buddy and dress up as the merc with a mouth and the legendary X-Men character played by Hugh Jackman? You could also embrace the witchy vibes of Agatha All Along and go as the titular character, the Scarlet Witch, or even as Joe Locke’s mysterious Teen. Looking to the future of the MCU, you could also bring out a Doctor Doom costume in anticipation of Robert Downey Jr.’s villainous turn in the upcoming Avengers films.
For DC fans, this year is all about Batman’s villains. Joker: Folie à Deux saw the return of Joaquin Phoenix’s take on the clown prince of crime, this time with Lady Gaga along for the ride as Harley Quinn. Both of these characters mostly revolve around makeup more than the costume itself, so they should be fairly easy. On a similar note, you could dress up as The Penguin and just slick back your hair and wear a suit. Or look ahead to 2025 and go as Superman in preparation for James Gunn’s take on the iconic hero.
Here are more easy superhero costumes to grab for Halloween.
