SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center has announced the P!nk concert scheduled for Monday in Sioux Falls has been postponed.

Plenty of work has gone into planning the concert.

“The P!nk concerts, probably one of the biggest concerts we will have had from a production standpoint in terms of the number of semis, the days it takes to load in,” Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken said.

But in a statement sent to KELOLAND News, Doria Drost, the director of marketing at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, said in part quote, “The October 21st P!nk show here in Sioux Falls is postponed. We are working with the tour to set a new date, but do not have the new date confirmed at this time.”

P!nk also posted a statement on social media saying she’s “disappointed”.

Mayor Paul TenHaken says that a postponement like this is not uncommon in the music industry. Now, the Premier Center will have to work with the other cities affected to set up a makeup date.

“People go on tour, and they tour hard. A lot of dates. Sioux Falls, Lincoln, Milwaukee, Des Moines, all affected by a cancellation, so we’re going to work with them and work with their schedule on when these will get kind of rebooked to determine when that is,” TenHaken said.

TenHaken says that it shouldn’t be long before you’re able to see P!nk in action in Sioux Falls.

“We’ll have to look at each of our individual bookings we already have, commitments we have and work it out, but it’s going to be fairly soon. You’re not going to have to wait a year to use up these tickets again,” TenHaken said.

Because the show must go on.

“We’ll have a killer show to celebrate the 10th year of the Denny,” TenHaken said.

If you already purchased a ticket, it will be honored for the concert’s makeup date. If you are unable to attend, you can get your money back. The PREMIER Center’s full statement is below:
