SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Crews in the Woonsocket area are battling a large wildland fire.
An employee at a gas station in Woonsocket says Highway 34 is closed between the town and the Junction with Highway 37. They also say it’s a low area that has a lot of cattails and slew grass.
Dry grasslands, low humidity and strong winds have made the area and many parts of South Dakota in extreme fire danger.
