GREENFIELD, Ind. — A local partnership between a towing company and a fire department based in Greenfield is urging residents to donate supplies that will be used to assist victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

Interstate Delaware & South Towing & Recovery announced in a news release that it is collaborating with Greenfield’s Buck Creek Township Fire Department to offer donation collection locations that will be transported to Arden, North Carolina. These locations include:

  • Bargersville Wellness 17 Baldwin Street, Bargersville
  • Amy Gabbard-Smith Agency 30 E. North Street, Greenfield
  • Interstate Towing 2460 N. Graham Avenue, Indianapolis
  • Walmart, 1965 N. State Street, Greenfield

This will be the second round of supplies after a semi delivered the the first round to a relief distribution center in Buncombe County, North Carolina, on Oct. 15.

The release said several firefighters used donated cash to purchase $4,000 worth of food, water, medicine, cleaning supplies and children’s products at a Costco on County Line Road.

All of these supplies were then loaded onto a semi truck at Buck Creek Township Fire Station 71, which can be found at 5809 Airport Boulevard in Greenfield between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Some of the most requested items include baby formula, medications, paper goods/plastic silverware, diapers, Gatorade, water, pet food, flashlights, canned goods, ready-to-eat meals and batteries.

The supplies will be transported on Oct. 21 around 4 p.m.
