The Tennessee Titans pre-bye problems haven’t been fixed, and it’s unlikely that Will Levis will be the guy Brian Callahan relies on to help fix it. But Callahan is sticking by Levis, despite the struggles and turnovers, and despite every loss.

Returning from the bye, the Titans lost to the Indianapolis Colts at home, and we only learned after the game that Levis might not have been 100%.

As we enter Week 7, here’s a look at where the Titans place in a multitude of power rankings.

They’re scheduled to face one club, New England, with a losing record through Week 13 – so should be plenty of opportunities to target WR Calvin Ridley.

If you aren’t going to beat the Colts at home, you simply are not going to win many football games. This team should rebuild, starting pronto.

It seemed like Levis would make a big jump this season given new coach Brian Callahan’s previous success with quarterbacks and his offensive scheme. Adding free agent receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd also made a Levis breakout season more likely. Unfortunately, the promising outlook has taken a turn for the worse. Through four games, Levis has passed for only 604 yards and four touchdown passes and has averaged only 7.8 fantasy points. He leads the NFL in turnovers (nine) and is tied for the most interceptions (six).

For the fourth time in five games, the Tennessee Titans failed to score more than 17 points. The hope was that offseason investments on the offensive side of the ball would lead to the acceleration of development for Will Levis, but that hasn’t been the case at all (Week 6 vs. IND: 27 passes for 95 yards).

The defense can keep this team competitive against average teams, but asking them to do the heavy lifting with the Bills and Lions up next is asking a lot.

The Titans want to see more of good Will Levis before making the final call on turning the page to another QB in 2025, but hiding him with the running game isn’t going to help that.

Calvin Ridley was involved, even if he wasn’t happy after the game. He posted a line you won’t see often: zero catches on eight targets. Tennessee is in for a long season.

We’ve spent plenty of time critiquing quarterback Will Levis this season and rightfully so. There isn’t a play call that will magically make Levis stop turning the ball over of keep him from taking sacks, but I haven’t seen anything from head coach Brian Callahan that suggests he knows hot to mitigate his offenses’ problems. The only things that seem to go weel for Tennessee are handoffs and passes behind the line of scrimmage. The lack of downfield passing game seems to be wearing on newly acquired receiver Calvin Ridley, who was a nonfactor until the fourth quarter of the Titans’ loss to the colts on Sunday. Callahan comes from an offense in Cincinnati that always got the ball to its best players in key situations, and his inability to do so leaves me wondering whether he’s cut out to fix the problems here.

The Titans need to figure out their offensive identity quickly. It was clear that they tried a different approach after some bye-week self-scouting, tasking Will Levis with throwing more high-percentage passes and leaning on their run game against the Colts. The formula mostly worked through three quarters, even with early-down penalties putting them in some bad down-and-distances. But things fell apart after the Colts took the lead, early in the fourth quarter, with Levis throwing an INT on one of few true deep shots in the game. He finished with 95 pass yards on 27 attempts, going 3-for-10 in the fourth quarter. After yet another tough home loss, Calvin Ridley took some blame for his zero-catch game but also added that he needed to see the ball more early on. Can Brian Callahan find a way to make Levis more efficient while limiting his turnover-worthy plays? That will define the season and whether the Titans can crawl out of their 1-4 hole.
