VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — USD eclipsed the 40-point mark for the fifth time this season with a 42-17 D-Days victory over Northern Iowa this weekend.

The Coyotes have reached the 40-point mark in each of their five victories. The Yotes tallied more than 500 yards of offense for a third consecutive week. After trailing 10-7 early in the second quarter, South Dakota scored 28 straight to surge in front.

“Offensively unbelievably consistent effort,” USD head coach Bob Nielson said. “Defensively we just got better and better and better as the game went on after those first couple of drives. Playing really good football right now. And we just got to got to keep keep building.”

The Coyotes hit the road for a conference showdown with Youngstown State this weekend.
