FRANKFORT, Ind. — A 17-year-old skateboarder was struck by a driver in Frankfort on Saturday.

Frankfort Police Chief Scott T. Shoemaker confirmed officers were called to the intersection of Clinton and Clay Streets around 3:48 p.m. After an investigation, police learned a 17-year-old male had been hit by a car.

Per FPD, the skateboarder was travelling northbound on Clay Street when he was struck by a motorist who did not complete a stop while moving westbound on Clinton Street. The skateboarder was subsequently dragged by the car that struck him.

Police confirmed the juvenile only sustained a few abrasions during the crash. He did not suffer any broken bones or internal bleeding but was still transported from the scene to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Indianapolis.

The driver who allegedly hit the skateboarder did not suffer any injuries, according to FPD.
