Detroit is set for a high-speed weekend as the Oktoberfest Beer & Bike Race takes over the Lexus Velodrome on Oct. 18-19.Cyclists from across the country will be competing on the indoor 1/10th-mile oval track, known for its steep banks and challenging design. The Lexus Velodrome, which opened in December 2018, was at the time one of only two indoor cycle-racing tracks in the U.S.The upcoming races will feature competitors speeding around the track at over 40 mph in an exciting relay format, with teams of two racing together. The action starts at 7:30 p.m. on both nights, and spectators will get a front-row experience with seating just 10 feet from the track.To not miss any action, attendees can also watch the race on a giant TV screen and over 30 monitors placed around the venue.Additionally, the event will feature the SpokeEasy Lounge, where attendees can enjoy premium seating along with a selection of handcrafted cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.KDubs Food Truck will also be on-site to offer a variety of food options.For more information on the event and to purchase tickets, visit MadTrackCycling.com.
